William P. Carter, MD is associate chief for psychopharmacology research
at the Biological Psychiatry Laboratory of McLean Hospital in Belmont, Mass.
Dr.
Carter received his bachelors of science degree in psychology from Brown
University in Providence, R.I., and earned his medical degree at Harvard
Medical School.
Dr. Carter is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
After completing his residency in adult psychiatry at McLean Hospital and
serving as chief resident, Dr. Carter was appointed assistant and then associate
director
of the Clinical Evaluation Center of McLean Hospital. He also was the director
of residency training at McLean Hospital for three years until he became
the associate chief for psychopharmacology research at the Biological Psychiatry
Laboratory at Mclean Hospital.
Dr. Carter has published numerous articles, proceedings, and reviews. He currently
is the associate editor for Current Psychiatry. His research interests
include psychopharmacology, and mood, eating, and anxiety disorders.
