Terry F. Davies, MD, FRCP, currently is the Florence and Theodore Baumritter
Professor of Medicine, and director of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes
and Bone Disease at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. He earned
his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne
in the United Kingdom, and completed his medical internship and residency at
the University Hospitals in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.
From 1975-1977, Dr. Davies
completed a Medical Research Council Training Fellowship in endocrinology,
and in 1977 he was awarded an International Fellowship to
work at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. In 1979
he joined the faculty of Mount Sinai School of Medicine where he has made his
career.
In 1986, Dr. Davies was elected a fellow of the Royal College of
Physicians, London and in 2000 was elected to the American Association of
Physicians. He also is a fellow of the American College of Endocrinology. Dr.
Davies
is author
or co-author of more than 250 publications in the area of autoimmune thyroid
disease and has research and clinical interests in thyroid disease, autoimmunity,
the TSH receptor, and genetics of thyroid disease.
