Robin K. Dore, MD is clinical professor of medicine in the Division of Rheumatology
at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los
Angeles (UCLA). A board-certified rheumatologist in private practice in Anaheim,
Calif., she also is certified by the International Society for Clinical Densitometry
(ISCD) as a clinical densitometrist.
Dr. Dore earned her medical degree from the University of California, Irvine,
and completed her internship, residency, and rheumatology fellowship at Harbor-UCLA
Medical Center in Torrance, Calif.
She is a past president of the Southern California Rheumatology Society and
a founding fellow of the American College of Rheumatology where she has served
on several committees including their board of directors. Most recently, Dr.
Dore represented the College as a member of the Physician’s Current Procedural
Terminology (CPT) Advisory Committee for the American Medical Association.
As an executive committee member of the Southern California Chapter of the
Arthritis Foundation, Dr. Dore has received recognition for her contributions
to patient and physician education and community service. In 2000, the Arthritis
Foundation acknowledged her contributions to the development of Bone Builders,
an osteoporosis awareness program devoted to educating girls and young women
about the importance of healthy lifestyles in the prevention of osteoporosis.
This program is currently being presented to various Girl Scout troops throughout
the United States by their adult leaders.
Dr. Dore is actively involved in clinical investigations and participates in
research studies of medications for the treatment of osteoarthritis, osteoporosis,
rheumatoid arthritis, and other diseases. She has investigated anti-TNF, anti-IL1,
COX-2, selective estrogen receptor modulator, parathyroid hormone, and other
agents.
