Dwight L. Evans, MD, is the Ruth Meltzer Professor and Chairman of the Department
of Psychiatry and Professor of Psychiatry, Medicine, and Neuroscience at the
University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He was formerly the professor
and chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida College
of Medicine and also had professorships in the Departments of Medicine and Neuroscience.
Prior to this, he was Professor of Psychiatry and Medicine, Associate Director
of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) Clinical Research Center,
Director of the Psychoneuroimmunology Laboratory and Chief of the Inpatient
Division, all at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine at Chapel
Hill. Dr. Evans is a former Clinical Scholar at the Robert Wood Johnson Fellowship
program at the University of North Carolina. He is the author of over three
hundred articles, chapters, and abstracts and serves on the editorial boards
of a number or professional journals, including Psychoneuroendocrinology,
and Journal of Clinical Psychiatry and Neurosciences. Dr. Evans is
a fellow of the American College of Psychiatrists and the American Psychiatric
Association, as well as the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology.
