Paul Fine, MD is Associate Professor and Chief of the Section of Female Pelvic
Medicine and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (formerly Urogynecology) in the Departments
of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Urology at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston
Texas. Dr. Fine was the founder of the Section of Urogynecology at Baylor in
1978. He is also the Fellowship Director for Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive
Pelvic Surgery.
Dr. Fine received his M.D. degree from the George Washington University in
1971 and completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at L.A. County-USC
Medical Center in 1975. He served in the United States Air Force as Chief of
Ob-Gyn at Torrejon AFB, Spain from 1975-77. He is a diplomat of the American
Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology since 1977 with recent recertification.
He was in private practice from 1977-1994 with a concurrent voluntary faculty
appointment in the Baylor Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Fine
joined the Baylor fulltime faculty in 1994.
He is on the staffs of multiple Houston area hospitals including the Methodist
Hospital, St. Lukes Episcopal Hospital, The Womans Hospital of Texas,
Ben Taub General Hospital, the Veteran Affairs Hospital, Clear Lake Regional
Medical Center, and Mainland Medical Center. Dr. Fine is one of the Principal
Investigators for the NIH Pelvic Floor Disorders Clinical Trials Network. He
has also participated in numerous pharmaceutical international clinical trials.
He lectures extensively both locally and nationally. Dr. Fine is a member of
many professional organizations on local, national, and international levels.
