W. Glenn Hurt, MD, a native of Virginia, received his undergraduate education
at Hampden-Sydney College, Hampden-Sydney, Virginia, and his medical degree
at the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, Virginia. He did his internship
at the Charlotte Memorial Hospital, Charlotte, North Carolina, and his residency
in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond.
Following his residency, Dr. Hurt served 2 years in the US Navy, Great Lakes,
Illinois. Afterward, he returned to Richmond as a member of the full-time faculty
of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, where he is Professor (tenured)
of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
His specialty interests include gynecology, urogynecology, and reconstructive
pelvic surgery. In addition to peer manuscripts, abstracts, and book chapters,
he has edited two textbooks: Postreproductive Gynecology (Churchill Livingstone)
and Urogynecologic Surgery (now in its 2nd edition, Lippincott Williams &
Wilkins).
