Jeanne M. Jackson-Siegal, MD is assistant clinical professor of psychiatry
at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn., the medical director
of the Alzheimer’s Resource Center, and a partner with Geriatric and Adult
Psychiatry, LLC, also in Connecticut.
Dr. Jackson-Siegal received her medical degree from Oregon Health & Science
University (OHSU) in Portland. Her internship, residency training in psychiatry,
and fellowship in geriatric psychiatry also were completed at OHSU.
Dr. Jackson-Siegal is an active member of the American Association for Geriatric
Psychiatry, American Psychiatric Association, and American Medical Directors
Association. She is a member of the editorial advisory board for “Geriatric
Times.” and co-author of the Geriatric Psychiatry Practice Management
Workbook (1997 and 2002 editions), and a physician manual on the Voluntary
Compliance Program. In 2003, Dr. Jackson-Siegal was selected by the Centers
for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to help rewrite nursing home regulations
regarding psychiatric medications. Her current focus of interest is working
to develop a consistent quality standard of care for the elderly in nursing
homes.
Dr. Jackson-Siegal speaks nationally on issues of aging, dementia, geriatric
depression, long-term care, and behavior management for the American Association
for Geriatric Psychiatry (AAGP), American Medical Directors Association (AMDA),
U.S. Geriatric & Long-Term Care Congress, American Academy of Physician
Assistants (AAPA), American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP), and for
the National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration in Long Term
Care (NADONA/LTC).
