Barry Jacobson, MD, received his undergraduate degree at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. He attended medical school at Jefferson Medical College receiving his degree in 1980. His residency training was at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital where he was chief resident his fourth year. He was boarded in 1987 and recertified in 1997.

Dr. Jacobson started a private practice in 1984 in Drexel Hill, a western suburb of Philadelphia. He remains with this practice to this day. He has been chairman of his department for the past six years. He still practices clinical obstetrics and gynecology with a special interest in postmenopausal health and osteoporosis. He has an academic appointment in the Family Practice residency and has been their primary resource in OB/GYN for the past 18 years. He has lectured nationally for the past 4 years on women's health issues. He is an advisor to the National Women's Health Resource Center.
