Rakesh Jain, MD, MPH is assistant clinical professor in the Department of Psychiatry
and Behavioral Science at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston.
He also is director of psychiatric drug research for R/D Clinical Research Center
of Lake Jackson, Texas. Dr. Jain is an elected board member to the Council on
Substance Abuse (COSA), a United Way multi-county program that focuses on providing
community based alcohol and substance abuse treatment.
Dr. Jain received his master of public health (MPH) degree from the University
of Texas School of Public Health. He attended medical school at the University
of Calcutta in India, where he graduated in 1986. Next, Dr. Jain served a residency
in psychiatry and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University
of Texas Medical School. He went on to complete a postdoctoral fellowship in
research psychiatry in the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. Dr.
Jain is an approved continuing education provider by the Texas State Board of
Professional Counselors and holds lifelong certification from the American Board
of Psychiatry and Neurology.
