David M. Kendall, MD is chief of clinical services and medical director at the International Diabetes Center in Minneapolis, Minn. He also serves as a clinical consultant in Endocrinology for the Park Nicollet Clinic and as the Vice President for Education at Park Nicollet Institute.

Dr. Kendall holds an academic appointment as a clinical associate professor of medicine at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. He is an active member of the American Diabetes Association (ADA), and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE). He is currently serving as a member of the American Diabetes Association’s Grants Review Committee and Program Publications Editorial Board. Dr. Kendall is an associate editor for Diabetes Spectrum and has served as a member of AACE Committee on the Dysmetabolic Syndrome and the ADA Taskforce on insulin resistance.

He remains active in clinical research and has authored over 60 original manuscripts, chapters and professional reviews. He currently serves as a clinical investigator for the Epidemiology of Diabetes Intervention and Complications (EDIC) Trial – the follow up study to the Diabetes Control and Complications Trial (DCCT)– and is a principle clinical investigator for the Action to Control Cardiovascular Risk in Diabetes (ACCORD) Trial.

Dr. Kendall remains active in clinical practice, with an emphasis on the treatment of diabetes, and lipid disorders as well as cardiovascular disease risk reduction. Specific research interests include studies of emerging treatments for diabetes and the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular complications of diabetes and related disorders.
