Daniel L. Kirby, MD currently resides in Charlotte, N.C., and is a rheumatologist
in private practice in Gaston County. He is actively involved in clinical research
and co-directs an osteoporosis diagnostic and treatment facility.
Dr. Kirby received his bachelor of science degrees in chemistry, and in biochemistry
and molecular biology from the University of Florida in Gainesville. His medical
degree was earned at the University of Florida College of Medicine, also in
Gainesville, followed by an internal medicine internship/residency at Shands
Hospital and the Gainesville Veterans Administration at the University of Florida.
He was later granted a fellowship in rheumatology and immunology at the University
of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver.
Dr. Kirby has been the recipient of several distinguished clinician awards,
and served as a principal investigator in several key clinical trials. He is
an invited speaker at regional medical conferences and is a member of several
advisory boards and speakers bureaus. He also is a fellow of the American College
of Rheumatology and a member of the International Society for Clinical Densitometry.
Dr. Kirby’s research interests include rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis.
